Meet Journey’s New Pastor

May 6th, 2010 by Lou | 6

Andy Atkinson, pastor of Journey Church, is a recent graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity.  Originally from Pine Bluff, Andy graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1998.  His college journey led to Louisiana Tech University after High School.  After 3 and 1/2 years and a call to the ministry,  God led Andy to a small Baptist college in the rice fields, Williams Baptist College.  From graduating Williams in 2004,  enrolled at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Through a hurricane and few all nighters, he graduated in December 2009.  He is grateful for each experience that God has provided whether a proverbial mountain top or valley and hopes to embrace God’s learning process.

He also enjoys being outdoors when the opportunity presents itself.  He stays interested in the latest technological advancement.  Andy and his wife Micki were married in 2007. Micki is a Mississippi native and a graduate of Mississippi College with a Communications degree in Public Relations.  She has worked in publishing and communications since graduating in 2005. The couple lived in New Orleans for two years before working as Co-Coordinators for the summer staff at Glorieta Conference Center in  New Mexico in 2009. They really enjoyed experiencing different terrains on the West as well historical landmarks of New Orleans and look forward to making Southeast Arkansas their home.
