The Tradition of Ringing the Bell

Wow…..wow is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about the greatness of our Lord and His glory that He has been showing in our town and on our campus.  Guys, five people in the past two days have given their lives to our precious Lord!!!!  Praise God for this great week!!!

A tradition was started when I was either a freshman or a sophomore (It is hard for me to remember since that was so long ago!) that when someone gives their lives to Christ on our campus that we take that person to the victory bell on campus and let them ring the bell in declaration of the victory that they have just experienced!!!  Such a simple but amazing act of praise!!!

The victory bell is normally rung whenever our football defeats an opponent, and over the last few years, it’s rung whenever the battle has been won against Satan!  How awesome would it be to be walking along campus praying for the lost and then in the distance you hear…….ding……ding……ding!!!!!!  You know that God has answered your prayers and a victory has been won!
